It all came down to the final event, and less than a second. After garnering a strong performance from their distance runners in the 3200 meter run, the Colonial Forge boys pulled ahead of host Brooke Point by two points. So it was a must win for the Black Hawks in the 4x400 and a hope that Colonial Forge would fall to third. In the end it was the Brooke Point quad holding off their district rival with a 4:33.84 to 4:34.49 win to tie for the District Championship.

Northwest Region Meet Preview Lee Dick Nov 01, 2004

The Northwest Region Meet will be hosted on Thursday, November 4th at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Virginia. The first race goes off at noon time. The top 15 individuals and top 4 teams in the boys and girls\' races will advance to the VHSL Group AAA State Meet held at Great Meadows on November 13th.

The Chancellor Invitational has become a tradition on Labor Day weekend except for last year when the calendar dictated that it be held the following week to accommodate four weeks of official cross country training. This year it returned to the holiday weekend with a total of twenty two team entries on tap to kick off the 2004 Cross Country season.

The Octoberfest Invitational started as a chilly, rainy morning rekindling thoughts of 3 weeks before when the rain and the mud controlled the events of the day. But the rain soon subsided and the temperatures slowly began to rise.
