Malibu's Claudia Lane (CA) cruised to a 17:03.40 en route to victory at Foot Locker Nationals in 2017, posting the 18th fastest time run at Balboa Park.

Desert Vista's (AZ) Lauren Ping recorded the fastest out-of-state girls 3-mile at the Mt. Sac Invitational in 2019, running 16:47.00.

Sophia Nordenholz ran 16:46.00 to win D-IV last November, the No. 5 fastest time ever on the 5K Woodward Park course at the State Championships.

Eight Named To Outdoor All-ACC Academic Team Keene To Compete For Ghana At 17th African Athletics Championships University of North Carolina track and field coach Dennis Craddock will welcome 30 newcomers, including 19 men and 11 women, to the Tar Heel program in 2010-11. Fourteen of the newcomers are middle distance and distance runners, including Kendra Schaff, a transfer from the University of Washington who was the 2008 and 2009 Pac-10 Cross Country Athlete of the Year and finished second at the 2009 NCAA Championship.

 Molly Grabill (Rancho Bernardo, CA) and Brian Shrader (Sinagua, AZ) took top honors at the Foot Locker West Regionals today at the Mt. Sac course in Walnut California.

With only six of the twenty Foot Locker finalists from last year returning back in 2008, the West seems to be wide open for newcomers to make names for themselves. Leading the way on the girls side is '05 national champion and '07 third placer Jordan Hasay (CA) (pictured above by John Herzog), while Chris Schwartz (CA) is the lone male national returnee.
