Southerlynn Nickerson (Harnett Central) clocked 12.10 in the 100 meters at the Carolina Conference Championships on April 30, dropping from her previous mark of 12.83. The sophomore won the race and set a school record while ranking #35 in the state and #10 among sophomores. Nickerson also set personal bests in the 200 meters (26.21, down from 26.30) and 400 meters (1:01.97, down from 1:03.57).
Mia Irving (South Johnston) ran 12.35 in the 100 meters at the Carolina Conference Championships on April 30, improving from 12.91. The junior finished fourth and established a school record while ranking #97 in North Carolina and #28 among juniors. Irving also posted a personal best of 26.69 in the 200 meters, improving from 27.65.
