After sweeping both the boys and girls 3A team titles each of the last two seasons, Dudley High School has firmly established itself as the top program in the classification. The Panthers won by a combined 41.5 points in 2025, showing dominance on both sides with depth across multiple event groups. That trend has carried into this season, with several athletes already ranked inside the top 10 throughout the Tar Heel State. It's not just star power - this is a complete roster capable of scoring in bunches at the state meet. With just a few weeks left until state, Dudley has its sights set on completing a historic three-peat.

He Hasn't Lost in the 100m Dash in Over A Month
2026 Rankings: 100m - NC #4 | 200m - NC #11
Che'kai Hicks has been electric over the last four weeks, winning four straight races in the 100m dash, including at the Guilford County Championships, where he ran 10.44 - setting the 4th fastest time in North Carolina this spring.
The underclassman finished 4th at the 3A state meet last season and looks poised to climb the podium, possibly claiming the top spot in a couple of weeks. A win in the 100m, and possibly the 200m as well, would go a long way in helping Duddley bring home a third straight state title.
She's The Hurdle Queen
2026 Rankings: 300mH - NC #6 | 100mH - NC #7 | 400mH - NC #7
Amber Williams sits inside the top 10 in all three hurdle events this spring, having won seven times across the three races, including a pair of wins in the 100m and 300m at the Guilford County Championships.
The sophomore's times of 14.11 (100mH), 43.86 (3300mH), and 68.83 (400mH) put her in rare air in North Carolina and she has a chance to score some serious points for the Panthers at the state meet, one year after missing the meet altogether.
8 Wins in 9 Tries
2026 Rankings: Discus - NC #5 | Shot Put - NC #14
Kymari Barham was good in 2025, but has reached another level in 2026.
The junior has won 8 discus competitions at 9 different meets, most recently throwing a personal best of 142-1 at the Metro Conference Meet 4, setting the state's 5th-best performance in the event. He also won the discus and shot put at the Metro Conference Championship on Tuesday. Heading into state, the throwing phenom looks to improve upon his 4th place finish in the shot put and earn some important points for his team.
Consistency in the 200m Dash
2026 Rankings: 200m Dash - NC #10
Shalei Jordan has enjoyed a strong season in the 200m dash, winning twice and putting down one of the state's most prolific performances on the oval. The junior's personal best time of 24.30 came en route to winning the event at the Guilford County Championships.
She is ranked in the top 30 in all three sprint events, sporting an undefeated season in the 400m dash, and will be in contention to score points in any race she chooses to compete in at what should be her state meet debut.
One Final Ride
2026 Rankings: 400m - NC #13 | 200m - NC #18
Kamaal Ryan has brief experience running in the state championship and as he enters the final weeks of his last high school track season, the senior sprinter will be looking to seize the opportunity and finish atop the podium at this year's state meet.
He set personal best times in the 200m and 400m dashes at the Guilford County Championships, running 21.61 and 48.23, respectively. Expect the four-year veteran to be a key member of this season's championship-chasing core, looking to score as many points for his team as possible.
