Camryn Dailey of Franklinton, NC and Track Xplosion threw down an incredible 7.27 60m Dash to win the Finals at Nike Indoor Nationals today. The mark is her new personal best, and only trails Dana Wilson (Greensboro Day) and Shawnti Jackson (South Granville) who both ran 7.16 in 2025 and 2023 respectively.
Dailey, only an 8th grader, now holds a better 60m Dash than so many North Carolina All-Time sprint greats like Gabrielle Mayo and Tamara Clark. While the 60m isn't commonly run in North Carolina, many compete in it at major events, and her 55m en route time of 6.77 still sits a NC#3 All-Time behind only Jackson and Wilson who had en route marks of 6.67 and 6.72 in their state record performances respectfully.
Dailey set new PRs of 11.39 (+1.6), 22.92 (+1.7) and 51.67 last spring showcasing her range across all three sprint events as a 7th grader. She ran a 7.40 60m Dash last year, so what scary is her top speed is ahead of where she was a year ago.
He prelim marks to open the competition today were 7.38 for 60m with a 6.88 55m en route split. She'd also contest the 400m running 55.73 finishing in first, but was disqualified for a lane violation before the break.
The wind legal North Carolina Outdoor State Records are 10.89 (+0.9) and 22.35 (+1.6) by Shawnti Jackson, and 51.17 by Kayla Davis (Run U Xpress). It's very well possible for her to hold state records before event being of high school age!
