NCRunners Elite Dash For Doobie

The Dash for Doobie 3200 is getting a fantastic present for its 18th birthday: a complete rebrand! The southeast's premier fall post-season tune-up meet is moving a few miles south to Forsyth Country Day and getting updated logos and colors to celebrate. The new venue will make the meet more accessible from the highways, and also provide a faster surface for a meet that already produces lightning fast times.
Long time meet director Eric Fritz says, "It's great to have Dash for Doobie continuing to bring the best of the best together to conclude the XC season for 18 years now. We're excited to join the NCRunners Elite race lineup and have FCDS jump in to provide a home this fall while we await a new track at Reagan HS. Coach Scott and the administration at FCDS have been very supportive and we are deeply appreciative. Based on the incredible talent and results this fall we anticipate this year's DFD to be one of the best yet!"
FCDS Coach Joe Scott speaks to the reasons why this new partnership has Fritz so excited: "Forsyth Country Day School is honored to host the 2025 Dash for Doobie. We understand and respect how significant Dash for Doobie is, and we are grateful to Coach Fritz and the Reagan community for trusting us with this sacred event. We will work hard to ensure that this year's Doobie meets the same high standards that Coach Fritz has established over the years."
Along with the site change, NCRunners Elite is taking over the role of primary sponsor of the Dash for Doobie. NCRunners LLC founder Jeff George has been supporting the meet as announcer since its inception, and has been providing financial support for the last 2 years. George says, "The Dash for Doobie is a natural fit with the NCRunners Elite brand, and you could argue that it immediately becomes the crown jewel of our portfolio of meets. Now we're running the southeast's best tune-up events for both cross country and track! I have such a personal connection to this meet; It's an honor to ensure that the elite tradition of DFD will continue on behalf of the Doub family and all the runners that have come to cherish the Dash for Doobie experience."

A Proud & Impressive History
Over the past 17 years, the Dash for Doobie has established itself as one of the most important meets in the Southeast. Year 18 will be just as amazing, bringing top talent to the top-notch new venue!
From its humble beginnings as the Reagan Two-Mile Tune-Up in 2008, the meet has grown enormously in both size and quality. DFD has become a competitive cornerstone of both the cross country and indoor track seasons, producing some of the fastest 3200 times in state and national history. Situated between the cross country state meet and the major postseason national meets, it has served multiple purposes for the regional high school running community: preparation for upcoming races, capping off the cross country season with a fast time, qualifying for the indoor state meet.
The atmosphere at Dash for Doobie is unparalleled, with crowds on the track, cool November evening temperatures, and excited fans of the running community! Last year's edition was the largest ever, with 12 boys heats and 6 girls heats culminating in the two exciting Elite sections.

Supporting the Running Community Financially and In Spirit
In addition to its competitive value, the Dash for Doobie also provides important social and academic benefits. Beginning in 2012, the meet took on its current name in memory of Nicholas Doub, a Reagan High School cross country runner who passed away far too soon. To honor the spirit and energy that Nick "Doobie" Doub brought to the Raider family, a scholarship fund was established and gradually expanded. Now, two Reagan seniors and two participating runners (one boy and one girl in each category) will be awarded one-time $500 scholarships.

At NCRunners Elite, our goal is to not only preserve and continue the proud tradition that already exists, but also to continue to expand and improve. Most important of all, we want to keep the entry fee reasonable, while still funding the scholarships that add such a special additional touch to what is already an amazing event.
Along with the change of location, we've updated logos for both Dash for Doobie and NCRunners Elite. This will be the first chance to pick up shirts with the new designs on them, in three color combinations.
