Old and New Come Together at the NCRunners Elite Tune-Up

The NCRunners Elite Tune-Up, founded by then-Bishop McGuinness coach and current meet director Robert Youtz, has only been around since 2009. Despite that relatively short life, though, the event has become a staple of the outdoor season and has contributed numerous top-10 and top-5 all-time performances.

That tradition returned last year in a new venue - the Irwin Belk Track at Johnson C. Smith University, which the NCAA lists among its most scenic stadiums. The Tune-Up continues in its new home this June 3rd, with a few additional updates!

We're excited to debut our own timing system, which we will expand and upgrade over the course of the next year. Timing our own meets will allow us to keep the costs of all NCRunners Elite meets low, while we still provide the quality of competition and experience that you have come to expect.

Finally, we have the first NCRunners Elite merchandise! Our first batch of racing singlets were debuted at the NCRunners Independent Schools Indoor Championship, and also made an appearance at the Carolina Distance Carnival. We're proud to continue to offer them at every NCRunners Elite meet, and we plan to expand the offerings every year. Not only will they be available for sale on June 3rd, but we will give one away to every event winner!

Whether you want to keep sharp for a national meet, transition to summer track, or just get one last shot at a strong performance to cap your outdoor season, it's time to become part of the history of the NCRunners Elite Tune-Up!
