Hannah Hensley of Pinecrest won the girls high jump with a leap of 5-6. She also placed 3rd in the long jump and 7th in the triple jump. Hannah is only a 9th grader.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lexie Schustrom of Pinecrest won the 3200m run on Friday night. Lexie's time of 11:02.93 is the #10 time in the US right now. Lexie also ran the 1600 on Saturday and finished 3rd overall. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Desmond Lawrence has won both 55m races at Chapel Hill this year. Southern Durham's Lawrence threw down a 6.39 on Saturday which ranks him #5 in the US right now.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

North Rowan's Teaunna Cuthbertson won the long jump with a mark of 18-01. This leap places her #14 in the US. Teaunna also placed 2nd in the triple jump. Her TJ mark of 37-8.75 ranks 12th in the nation. Finally, she also finished 2nd in the 55m hurdles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jake Hurysz of Eastern Alamance (3) won the 1600m race closing in 27.5 over the last 200m. Jake ran 4:23.29 for the win and looked comfortable doing it. Jake also anchored his team to the 4x800 victory, splitting 1:58 but again feeling like much more was in the tank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Southern Durham's Sherman Ragland III ran great to win the 55m hurdles. Ragland ran 7.57 to win by over 2 tenths of a second. His time ranks him #11 in the US.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These two girs are part of the deepest distance group in state history. Myers Park's Becca Deloache won the 1000 in 2:57.75, breaking the former meet record. She closed in 32 seconds over the last 200 and her time ranks her 6th in the US.

Kenyetta Iyevbele of Olympic finished 2nd to Deloache in the 1000 in a US #14 time. She also placed 2nd in the 3200. Between those performances was a solo 5:05 where Kenyetta ran away from the field. Her 5:05 ranks 24th in the country.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jordan's Tristine Johnson continues to be the girl to beat in NC in the triple jump. She proved that last week's PR wasn't a fluke by going 3/4 of an inch further Saturday. Tristine won the TJ with a mark of 38-8.50, good for #6 in the US.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Asheville Issac Presson shown here held off teammate John Harwell for the 1000m win. This capped quite  a meet for Presson as he won the 3200 on Friday night and finished 2nd in the 1600 on Saturday. Presson closed in 28 seconds in the 3200m to run 9:26.29. This time ranked him 9th in the nation.
