One senior, one junior, one sophomore, and one freshman. That is who won the boy's individual titles at the NCHSAA State Meet. But, who had the best overall season of the bunch? VOTE!
Gilbertson, a senior, won the NCHSAA 4A State Title in 15:28. He also is the 4A Mideast Regional and SAC 3A/4A Conference champion. He has victories at NCRunners Elite and Providence XC Invitational, and a runner-up finish at Friday Night Lights. His 2nd place at FNL is his only non-win of the entire season.
Schmid, a junior, won the NCHSAA 3A State Title in 15:44. Schmid was runner-up at NCRunners Elite, before going on to win the Central 3A Conference and 3A Mideast Regional championships. He was also 3rd at Hare & Hounds and 7th at Friday Night Lights.
Anstrom, a sophomore, won the NCHSAA 2A State Title in 16:15. He finished the year on a three-race win streak, claiming the 2A Mideast Regional and Mid-Carolina Conference titles.
Salinas, a freshman, won the NCHSAA 1A State Title in 16:46. He has a best of 16:30 from the 1A West Regional, where he was victorious. He won eight of the nine races he competed in this season.
