NCHSAA 2A Returning Rankings
The #24 Team on our Girls' Pre-Season Top 25 Team Countdown are the Bulldogs of Durham School of the Arts! DSA was the 5th place team at last season's NCHSAA 2A State Meet, but they return their entire squad! They're led up front by Trinity Konvalinka and Margaret Ann Healy. Konvalinka had a breakout performance at the State Meet where she dipped under 20:00 for the first time and was one spot off of an All-State selection. And, she did this as a freshman! Healy was right behind her teammate at the State Meet where she finished 13th! Healy has the fastest PR on the team of 19:17 from the 2019 Jungle Run.
Ella Bartlett ran 20:22 at the 2019 Jungle Run which is 3rd on the team, but did not run at the NCHSAA State Meet. Hopefully she can come back in 2020 ready to consistently score for this Bulldog squad.
Gabbi Battaglini and Jessie Foday will bring senior leadership into their Top 5 and hopefully be strong scorers for this team.
Healy was runner-up at the NCHSAA 1A/2A Indoor State Meet in the 1600m and 6th in the 3200m! Konvalinka also qualified for the 1600m at the Indoor State Meet and she finished in 15th.
DSA comes into the season as the 25th ranked team overall and tied for 1st in 2A. Having their whole squad back from a season ago gives strong indication that this experienced team is ready to take the next step towards a XC Team State Championship.
