Marshall swept the Indoor & Outdoor Shot Put as well at the Discus titles last year at the NCHSAA 2A State Championships.  She'd hold personal best marks of 45-1 and 149-5.  As a college freshman Marshall threw 47-10.5 and 164-9 winning Big South Conference Championships in both events and qualifying for NCAA Division I East Preliminaries in the Discus.

Yesterday Marshall had four legal throws, she fouled on her first and sixth attempt.  All four of those throws broke her overall PR coming into the event as her personal best jumps from 47-10.5 all the way up to 52-8!

Marshall would throw 161-2 in the Discus to place 6th overall in the Discus capping off a strong weekend for the Campbell freshman.

Fraley would foul her first throw in the Discus, but would throw 162-5 on her second attempt, which would safely advance her to the finals.  Her third throw would be her best of the competition of 167-9 which would put her in the lead going into finals.

After that she'd foul her next two throws, then threw 160-10 on her final attempt.  Britt would takeover the lead from Fraley on her fourth attempt throwing 174-5 and would go on to win the event in 177-2.
