Boys 3200m
Five boys battled throughout the majority of the boys 3200m. Jack Dingman (Northern Guilford) took the field out in 4:44 for the opening 1600m. He relinquished the lead and the pace slowed a little. Michael Zapherson (T.C. Roberson) and Daniel Hopkins (Lincolnton) pulled ahead of Dwayne Lillie (A.C. Reynolds) and Will Soule (T.C. Roberson). Hopkins pulled ahead with 400m to go and would hold off a late charge from Zapherson down the homestretch to win in 9:35.59.
