Barnes 34.49 300m runner-up NCHSAA 4A 300m finish in 2017
Trequan Barnes (Parkland, Norfolk State) - 400m Dash
Parkland grad Trequan Barnes has had a great sophomore season with Norfolk State. Back in late January Barnes ran 46.17 in the 400m, one of the top times in the country at the time, and it held on for the last spot at NCAAs this weekend. The time is just off his outdoor PR from last spring where he ran 46.15.
As a high school senior Barnes ran 48.04 for the 400m as well as 21.54 for the 200m outdoors. Indoors his 34.49 300m was his greatest accolade from his high school career where he took 2nd at the 4A State Championships. Just making it to the meet as a sophomore is a big accomplishment for the Norfolk State star.
