Khayla Dawson (Olympic, Indiana) - Shot Put
Dawson was a superstar in her high school days at Olympic. She is currently the 3rd best thrower in state history with her 49-0 throw outdoors and 2nd best indoors at 48-1.5. She won 4 shot put state titles, her junior and senior years indoors and outdoors, as well as a discus title her senior year.
Dawson has had a great indoor season throwing 57-1.75. Leading into the Big 10 Indoor Championships she hadn't lost a meet. She placed 3rd there. As a freshman and sophomore Dawson qualified for the East Prelims outdoors, but this will be her first NCAA Championship of her career so far.
