Elly Henes (Green Hope, NC State) - 3000m, 5000m
NC State junior Elly Henes will tackle the two longest events indoors in the 3000m and 5000m. Henes comes in as the 10th fastest seed in the 5000m at 15:34.48 and 13th seed in the 3000m at 9:01.72. A year ago Henes made the indoor national meet and placed 7th in 16:00.80. Henes placed 16th last spring at the outdoor national championships running 15:57.69.
Henes was a stud in high school. She helds PRs of 2:15.54, 4:52.43 in the Mile, and 10:24.06 in the 3200m. She placed 11th at indoor nationals in the 2 Mile her senior and her 3000m split was 9:47.11.
