18 North Carolina Athletes Are Headed To NCAAs!

The star hurdler Anna Cockrell will make her return to the NCAA Indoor Championships where she has placed 4th and 2nd the last two years for Southern California.  Now a junior, Cockrell comes into the national meet with a seasons best of 8.06.  Her last two years she ran 7.99 and 7.93 at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Cockrell was a star throughout her high school career.  She ran 7.63 in the 55m Hurdles and 8.18 for the 60m Hurdles indoors.  Both of those are the North Carolina State Records today.  She also holds the outdoors 100mH, 300mH and 400mH State Records at 13.17, 40.42 and 55.20.

This will be Cockrell's 5th NCAA Championship individually.  She qualified indoors and outdoors as a freshman and sophomore.  Cockrell will also compete on USC's 4x400m that is ranked 5th in the NCAA coming into the meet.
