Through the first 400 meters most of the field was still packed up front. After splitting a 1:09 for the first 400m Cora Cooke (Myers Park) decided it was time to push. She made her move with no girl daring to go with her. She powered over the final lap and finished in a NC #5 All Time and current US #21 time of 2:55.97. Her time is almost 3 seconds faster than the next top time in NC this season!
