Boys Championship 1600m
Mount Tabor teammates Cameron Ponder and Michael Moerk will fight for a National Title in the Mile. Moerk will race in the first heat on Sunday, while Ponder races in the final section later in the day. With only 8 boys entered in the fast section, it's more than likely that the top athletes in section one will become All-American's later in the day.
Ponder is the top seed in the event, and will possibly double back from the 2 Mile on Saturday where he'll also be a contender. He'll look to cap off an outstanding career at Mount Tabor with a National title in these events. He's certainly going to be on his competitor's radars after his US#1 4:04 Mile two weeks ago. It's certainly been an up and down year for Ponder, but it's clear he's in the best shape of his life and could challenge some state records this weekend.
