Nunley, Ruffin, Cascone Stand Out Amongst The 2021 Class

Alexander Nunley (Garner)

Alexander Nunley leads the state for freshman in three indoor track events.  The 55m Dash, the 300m Dash and his signature 55m Hurdles.  Nunley set a USATF 13-14 Age Group Record last year running 12.89 for the 100m Hurdles.  I wondered how his transition to high school with higher hurdles would be, and it seems like he's adjusted very well.  Nunley made the finals last weekend at the NCRunners Holiday Invitational where he ran 7.95 taking 7th.  His time not only leads the state for freshman, it is also US#1 amongst the 2021 class.

Nunley has run 37.34 and 6.77 for the 300 and 55m dash.  He was a star in both the 100 and 200m Hurdles last outdoor track season as well as the flat 100m.  He was 2nd in the 100m Dash at the USATF JO National Championships and ran 10.97 last summer.  He also won the 100m Dash, 100m Hurdles and 200m Hurdles at USATF JO Nationals running 12.94 and 24.73.  Nunley's certainly going to be a star at the high school level, it's going to be fun to watch his improvement the next few years.
