Makayla Obremski (Topsail)
Obremski showed no fear in her first major XC meet of the year hanging up front from the gun, and even trying to run away from the field leading up to the 2 mile. She took 2nd overall in the Championship race at the Jungle Run running a 27 second PR of 18:58. This ranks Obremski as the 2nd sophomore in NC this season behind Carmen Alder (Pinecrest). With freshman teammate Isabella Bufalini taking 18th in 20:01 while sick, Topsail is going to be a strong team over the next four teams.
