Week of June 26rd-July 2nd
This is my 2nd week of training after I took 2 weeks off following the NCRunners Elite Border Clash meet. I traveled to Dublin, Ireland for a study abroad trip with some other classmates for 2 weeks and I got to run on a river walk right in front of the hostel where I stayed. It was so beautiful. The weather was cooler and less humid than in North Carolina.
Monday 6/26- Endurance Run
1 mile warm up/dynamic stretches
6 miles @ 7:42 pace
Strength work
800m cool down/static stretches
*Got tough towards the end but still felt strong
= 7.5 miles
Tuesday 6/27- Recovery Run
800m warm up/dynamic stretches
5 miles easy @ 9:32 pace
Core work
Static stretches
*I usually don't do a cool down after a recovery run. Felt a bit sore at the beginning but it got better towards the end.
= 5.5 miles
Wednesday 6/28- Steady State Run
1 mile warm up/dynamic stretches
5x100m strides
3 miles @ 7:08 pace
25 min Oregon Drill (3.2 miles)
800m cool down/static stretches
*First 3 miles was hard. The Oregon Drill is like a fartlek where you continuously run 100m easy, 100m tempo, 100m race pace, and then start back at easy for 25 mins. It felt a bit tough but more relaxed.
= 8 miles

Friday 6/30- Day Off
I woke up really early to go on a day trip to Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland so I took today off but I still got in about 4 miles of walking. Unfortunately I didn't get to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Saturday 7/1- Long Run
1 mile warm up/dynamic stretches
10 miles @ 7:41 pace w/ last mile @ tempo (6:48)

*My legs felt dead after the run and strength work so I didn't do a cool down. Still was able to finish fast at the end of the run.
= 11 miles
Sunday 7/2- Day Off
Took today off to walk around Dublin, about a 5 mile walk. I leave to go back to the United States tomorrow.
