Eastern Challenge Preview - North Carolinian's Look to hold off Strong Florida Talent

Girls Sprints/Hurdles

55m Dash

Freshman Alysia Johnson (Hillside) set some fast marks a few weeks ago running 7.17 in the 55 and will look to get closer to the 7 second range.  She will go up against some strong competition in Kayla Moore (Cummings), and Alicia Thomas (IMG Academy, Florida) who has run a 7.79 60m Dash.  Ty-Lisha Kimble (Rocky River) has run 7.24 this season and clocked a 7.30 at the VA Showcase most recently.

55mH Dash

Kayla Moore (Cummings) will look to get closer to breaking 8 seconds.  She's been close all season, and a competitive field might drive her to break the barrier.  Like the long and triple jump, she will too sweep the event with her Cummings teammates Kenyae Majors and Kelsia Moore.  They'll be challenged by Nascha Blue (Glenn) and Azari'el Wilson (Panther Creek)

300m Dash

Alicia Thomas (IMG Academy) will double back from the 55m Dash and look to contest for the win in the 300.  Jonah Ross (Garner) comes in as the top seed and has run 40.65 in the 300 two weeks ago where she took a full second off her PR.
