Melissa Zammitti is back in the NCISAA after two years competing against NCHSAA competition, and she's running better than ever.
The NCISAA holds its championships this weekend, as well, and despite the very small size of the schools there will be some very big talent at the 1A/2A meet. All of these schools would be in the 1A classification in the NCHSAA, and many would be in the smallest half - and yet some of the best runners in the state emerge from these tiny schools, including several names that any dedicated observer of NC high school track and cross country will recognize.
The NCISAA rotates its state meet between the four different regions of the state, and this year the meet will be at North Raleigh Christian, starting on Friday.
