Harrison Claims NCAA Hurdles Title: Alumni Report 6/13
The former Clayton hurdler and current University of Kentucky star ranks 2nd in the world this year in both hurdle races.
Continuing today's trend of former North Carolina athletes succeeding on the international stage, we present to you Kendra Harrison. The Clayton High School graduate, now competing for Kentucky, won the NCAA title in the 100 Hurdles and finished second in the 400 Hurdles this past weekend in Oregon. Her season best of 12.50 in the 100 Hurdles ranks her 2nd in the world this year, as does her 54.09 in the 400 Hurdles!
Two other former NC preps had strong results from the meet. Tevin Hester (Granville Central/Clemson) ran 20.14 World #10 in the 200 prelims, although his time in the finals was not as fast. Jonathan Addison (Enloe/NC State) finished 4th in the long jump with a PR of 26' 2.5".
