Two years ago, the North Brunswick boys and the Cummings girls were not even in the top 10 in the state. Now, both teams are back-to-back champions.
For the most part, the locks held true to what we expected them to accomplish, and we ended the meet with the same two champions we had last year. That doesn't take anything away from the entertainment value of the Friday night session, nor does it begin to describe some of the exciting performances we witnessed. On the way to an expected outcome, we still saw a great track meet, and the state's small schools acquitted themselves very well.
