Philip Hall Renews His National Distance Credentials

Two races, two runaway wins, and two nationally-ranked results: that summarizes the day for Philip Hall (South View). He took over the state lead in the 1600 by pulling away from Mitchell Resor (Weddington) over the last 800, clocking a US #13 4:16.18 that also puts him at NC #12 All-Time (Resor ran 4:24.85 to move into NC #3).
Later, Hall started with a very conservative 4:58 first 1600 before opening up his stride on a 4:31 second half of the 3200, which left him with a 9:29.78. Kenny Kneisel (Mount Tabor) stayed with him the longest, finishing at 9:35.77 for NC #2 to lead 9 total boys under 10 minutes.
In the other individual boys' distance race, Vincent Crisp (North Mecklenburg) won the 1000 in 2:33.21, rallying after a strong mid-race challenge by Connor Peoples (Cardinal Gibbons, 2:34.91). Weddington's boys ran 8:13.48 to win the 4x800, moving up to NC #2.
