The Apex senior has developed tremendously over the last two years and is now a threat to finish in the top 5 at the state meet.
When Mihret Coulter moved from Holly Springs to Apex, it was more than just a change of location and scenery. The decision marked a change in priorities, as well, because that was the time in his life when he decided to focus exclusively on running, The passionate soccer player has reaped the rewards for his sacrifice, improving rapidly over his junior year to become a noteworthy runner in the state. Mihret then made another leap forward with his summer training, and has done nothing but turn heads with his early performances this fall. He is a very humble young man, but speaks very well for himself in this interview, where he also discusses his heritage (let's just say it's not surprising that he turned out to be an outstanding runner). It will be interesting to see if Mihret can translate this improvement into a top-5 finish at the NCHSAA 4A state meet in November.
