North Carolina Future Stars: 8th Grader Zoe Dorsey

Presenting our newest feature: The Future Stars Series. In this series, we'll take a look at one freshman or sophomore a week that is making a big impact early in their career, and is showing that they are a star in the making.

Fayetteville Academy 8th grader Zoe Dorsey is this week's North Carolina Future Star. Dorsey is still in 8th grade but has already made a huge impact on the NCISAA scene.

In 2021 as a 7th grader, Dorsey took home the NCISAA DIII 200m and 400m state titles. According to our records, she is the state record holder in both the grade seven 200m, 400m, and 800m.

She has a best in the 800m of 2:17.01, which is .37 faster than Lauren Tolbert's time from that age. Her 7th grade state records in the 200m and 400m came at last year's NCISAA state meet where she ran 24.63 and 55.50 respectively.

Dorsey won the 400m and 800m at the 2021 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships.

She currently has the top time in the 400m in all of the NCISAA. Her time as a 7th grader set her NC No. 8 overall in 2021.
