South View has an incredibly close returning pack, and they had great track times, and our new ranking algorithm likes those two things.
MileSplit has a new feature: Composite XC Team Rankings! They factor in track times as well as returning 5K times, and analyze both of those sets of data for strengths and weaknesses. The formula favors teams with tight splits in their returning cross country times, as well as schools that had at least 4 (and preferably 5) of their top returning cross country runners competing during track season. The new system creates some interesting results, and it will be interesting to see how it stands up as a predictive tool.
