Meet Information
Welcome to our first meet of the season in the SMC! We are proud to host! Unfortunately, we have a home varsity soccer game this day as well so we are limiting all events (including the 800m and the 1600m) to your top 4 athletes. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are trying to get the meet wrapped up quickly.
We will have a $5.00 gate fee for all spectators. Concession stands will also be open.
Coaches/scratch meeting will begin at 3:15pm at the Swain County Athletic Hall of Fame.
3:30pm all field events will begin and the girls and boys 4X800m relay. Please remind your student athletes to check in with each field event especially if they are doing more than 1 field event. For example: If girls discus and high jump are going on at the same time, they need to check in to both. We will try to be concluded with field events at 4:30. Athletes who fail to check in to their field or running events will be DQd.
At 4:30pm we will start with hurdles and it will be a rolling schedule after that. Please make sure your athletes are listening to 1st, 2nd, and final call. Pierre Timing is our timer for live results.
Please let your runners know that our track is short so starting points are different. We will have signs along the football field that tell where each start is. It would be helpful to point them out to your athletes. We will have the infield open only to runners who are warming up and coaches.
