ALL THE "SMOKE" INVITATIONAL
Statesville Senior High School is hosting the 1st annual All the "Smoke" Greyhound Invitational on Saturday April 11, 2026. Paying tribute to SHS long time Coach Kenny "Smoke" Wilkins. Coach Smoke led the Hounds to dozens of County, Sectional, Regional, and State Championships. Coach Smoke still holds the Pre-FAT 100m Dash Record at 10.30 seconds and was one of the most decorated and respected coaches in the state, along with being a legend in the Iredell County area. This meet is a great mid-season meet to help prepare athletes for championship season!
The event will be held at Statesville High School at 474 N Center St. | Statesville, NC 28677
MEET INFORMATION:
Eligibility: Open to NCHSAA high school teams & Unattached Athletes
Entries: Schools will be able to enter 4 athletes per event. Athletes can only compete in 4 events.
Only Event Entry Caps will be 800m (Top 48) | 1600m (Top 48) | 3200 (Top 30)
Awards: There will be a Trophy for the Team Champion. Medals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each event.
Facilities: Statesville High School track is a brand new 6-lane Mondo surface (specialized 8-lane Mondo for the Straight-lane Hurdle & Dash Races). Mondo Surfaces also for the runways for the jumps. No spikes may be worn that are longer than 1/4 inch. The shot put and discus circles are concrete.
Declaration: All entries should be confirmed or scratched from the meet at the coaches meeting between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Seeding: All events will be seeded according to your entry submission.
Concessions: Concessions will be on sale throughout the day.
Hospitality: There will be a hospitality area for coaches that work events, lunch will be served throughout the day. Please email me a list of all your coaches before the meet.
Schedule: Official meet schedule will be posted during Early April and updated while entries come through.
**Current Field Event Time start is 9:30am and Running Event Time Start at 10:30am**

All entries will be done on-line through ncrunners (MileSplit).

Running Events - 10:30am
o 100m Dash Prelims (Boys then Girls)
o 110/100 Hurdles Prelims (Boys then Girls)
o 4x800 Finals (11:30am start, and Rolling Schedule afterwards)
o 100m hurdles (Girls)
o 110m hurdle (Boys)
o Kenny Wilkins "Coach Smoke" 100-meter dash (Girls then Boys)
o 4x200 relay
o 1600
Big Man Relay (Not Scored - but contested for any teams that have Shot/Discus athletes)
o 4x100 relay
Mini Hounds 55m Dash (Not Scored - just kids from the crowd in a quick race)
o Sonny Schofield 400-meter dash
o 300-meter hurdles
o 800-meter dash
o 200-meter dash
o 3200-meter run
o 4x400 relay
Field Events - 9:30am (estimated)
o Long Jump (Girls Pit 1 (closest to home side) | Boys Pit 2 (closed to away side)
o High Jump (Boys followed by Girls)
o Triple Jump (closest to home side) | Boys Pit 2 (closed to away side)
o Shot Put (Girls Followed by Boys)
o Discus (Boys followed by Girls)

Entry fee: $140.00 per school: (this pays for both men's and women's team)
- $70.00 Single team (Men or Women Only)
- 4 athletes constitutes a team. $20.00 per Individual Athlete* (Not with a full team)
- Unattached athletes are $20.00 (up to 4 events)
- Club teams are NOT allowed.
