Meet Information

This meet is only for schools in the GMAC 6A/7A Conference.

  1. PLEASE NOTE, WE HAVE A NO BAG POLICY. PLEASE INFORM YOU PARENTS.

  2. Registration closes @6pm April 28

    1. Top 3 in any event. One relay team per event

    2. Reminder, only athletes' marks/times from any meet this season (in Milesplit of athletic.net) can be entered into individual events.

  3. Coaches Meeting at 3:15 pm. Coaches' boxes are located beyond each field event. NO COACHES should be outside of the boxes, or your athletes will be disqualified. No Electronics in the competition area! Athletes will be disqualified. Any coach not assigned to a field event, please make sure all athletes remain outside of the football field until their event is called for check-in, and assist at other field events so we can get home at a decent hour. 

    1. We will review the starting height for vertical jumps. Per state, it's recommended that the starting height not be set more than 2 marks below the regional qualifying requirements or the lowest entry mark. Regional qualifying standards 

  1. The meet will start with field events at 3:30 pm. The 4 by 800 will begin at approx. 3:50 pm to give a little time for field events to get underway.

  1. Your team must remain in the stands until their event, or we will need to disqualify athletes. I will call first with enough time to warm up and work on handoffs as needed. 100/110 hurdles can enter the track during the 4x800 once they are checked in. Please help us enforce this rule. Students should also be reminded that pacing is not allowed in ANY event.

  2. Check in for all non-lane running events will take place at the red tent near the starting line of the 100m. Only athletes in events called will have access to the track. All others should remain in the stands. NO FOOD or drinks other than water can be on the track.

  1. NO TECHNOLOGY on the track. Reminder: No smart watches while in a running event. Operate in excellence! We can't do it at Regionals or States-Don't do it here!

  2. Reminder: 3 athletes only in all events. All entries are to be posted in MileSplit by 6 pm the night before the meet. No additions, only scratches, will take place at the coaches' meeting. Athletes who are not scratched for an event and do not show up forfeit all events and points. Please make sure you scratch athletes and/or relays!

    Girls Pit- Official, Cox Mill, and West Cab

    Boys Pit- Official, AL Brown, and Central Cab

    Pole Vault- Official and West Cab

    Discus- Official, West Cab, and Harding

    Shot Put- Official, Hickory Ridge, and Olympic

    High Jump- Official, West Cab, and Berry

    Exchange Zones 4x100- Cox Mill, AL Brown, Olympic

    4x200- West Cabarrus, Hickory Ridge, Harding (2 teams at exchange zone 2)

    4x400- West Cabarrus

    4x800- West Cabarrus

  4. I will send out heat sheets late Tuesday night or Wednesday Morning. Please share with athletes. Please be sure all your athletes know their heat and lane number! This will speed up the hip number disbursement before each run.

  5. Please be sure all athletes are in school-issued uniforms that are in line with the national federation rules. 

  6. Parking: You will turn into West Cabarrus at the NON-LIGHT entrance and drive to the stadium. Drop your athletes and gear off. Turn around in the loop in front of the stadium. Drive back towards the school entrance. On the left before the baseball field, you will see a large lot with flags. Park the bus there.  West dismisses at 2:11. The street to the stadium will close at 2:40.

  7. The concession stand will be available, as well as food trucks.
