Wolverine's Friday Night Heat 2026 2026

SUBJECT: Friday Night Heat at West Cabarrus:

To allow the meet to run as smooth as possible please adhere to the following

1. PLEASE NOTE, WE HAVE A NO BAG POLICY. PLEASE INFORM YOUR PARENTS. SPECTATORS WILL BE SENT BACK TO VEHICLES TO PUT BAGS AWAY 

2. Please remember to bring payment or pay online. 25/gender 50/both teams. Checks can be made payable to West Cabarrus High Track and Field. You can email me or call with any questions. 330-881-3132.

3. Your team must remain in the stands until their event or we will need to disqualify athletes. The track will close before the 4 by 800 relay. Please help us enforce this rule. Students should also be reminded that pacing is not allowed in ANY event, no electronic devices in the competition areas, and NO food on the track.

4. Coaches meeting will be at 3:50pm. Please print heat sheets before you arrive if you want a paper copy. The meet will start promptly at 4:30 pm with field events. There will be NO warmups or run/throws after 4:30 pm. First call will be at 4:00 pm. The 4 by 800 will begin at 4:55 pm. Please arrive early enough so that your athletes can warm up. 

5. Check-in for all running events will take place at the red tent near the starting line of the 100m.Please be sure all your athletes know their heat and lane number! This will speed up the hip number disbursement before each event 800, 1600, 3200, 4x400 and 4x800. Only athletes in events called will have access to the track. All others should remain in the stands. NO FOOD or drinks other than water can be on the track. NO TECHNOLOGY ON THE TRACK TO INCLUDE WATCHES/PACING DEVICE

6. Due to the size of the meet, lane events will be capped at 5 entries, distance will be capped at 7, and two relay teams can be entered. All entries should be posted in MileSplit by 6 pm Thursday, April 16. No late entries will be accepted. Heat sheets will be sent shortly after closing. No changes will happen at the meet.

7. We will need assistance with field events. We will discuss at the coaches meeting.  Any additional coaches available to assist will get us home promptly. If you see a need please assist. We will have some volunteers as well. Starting heights for High and Pole Vault will be 42, 52, 60, 80.

8. Please be sure all athletes are in school-issued uniforms that are in line with the national federation rules. Relay teams must be in the same uniform (will make an exception for Mix Medley, however, the same gender must be in the same uniform)

9. There will be medals for 1-3 places and First place plaques for each gender team.

10. Park all buses in the school bus lot down from the stadium. Enter at the second entrance (not the light), make the first left-hand turn, up the hill, and the first right, will be the bus lot. Please tell all your families to park only in the parking lot behind the school, not the bus lot-cars may be towed. We will have multiple events on Friday. The secondary access to the stadium will be blocked due to the Baseball and Softball games. Please do not try to drop off in front of the stadium. You must go to the bus lot.

11. FNH is our Senior Night. There will be a short pause between the 1600 and 4x100 to celebrate our Seniors. 

12. The concession stand will be available.

13. All tickets are sold on GoFans.
