Girls race will start at 5:00 PM, Boys race will start immediately after. Coaches meeting at 4:45.
The meet will be at Lowe's Park at River's Edge, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
Reminder: Athletes may only compete in this meet if they have competed in two meets already this season. Also, GPS watches are not permitted.
All-Conference selections and team champions will be recognized immediately after the meet. Top 15 athletes from each race will be awarded All-Conference. First place athletes in each race will be awarded Conference Runner of the Year. Coaches will also vote on the Conference Coach of the Year.

The rest of the course is a mixture of mowed grass, cinder ash, and trail. This same course was ran at our Pre-Conference Meet.

With this being a championship meet, all NCHSAA rules regarding XC will be followed and enforced. Please review these with your athletes. Here are the main rules and some things I've noticed this season at our meets:
Section 6, Article 1, Part B: A Competitor is disqualified who interferes with another competitor. (Remind athletes that if kicking to beat someone at the finish they need to keep space between them and their competitor.)
Rule 4, Section 6, Article 1: Unsporting conduct is behavior that is unethical or dishonorable. It includes, but is not limited to: disrespectfully addressing an official, any flagrant behavior, intentional contact, taunting, criticizing or using profanity directed toward someone. This shall apply to all coaches, contestants, and other team/school personnel.
Rule 4, Section 6, Article 2: Unacceptable conduct by a competitor includes, but is not limited to: willful failure to follow the directions of a meet official, using profanity that is not directed at someone or any action which could bring discredit to the individual or the competitor's school.
Section 6, Article 1, Part F: A Competitor is disqualified who fails to complete the prescribed course that is defined by a legal marking system.
Rule 4, Article 3: Removing any part of the team uniform, excluding shoes, while in the area of competition, as defined by the games committee, is illegal. This shall lead to a warning and if repeated to disqualification from the event. (This is something I have noticed all year, athletes need to keep their jersey or some type of clothing on while they are at the park. Running the cool down shirtless counts as the area of competition. Keep their shirts on!)
