Meet Information
This is a Middle School Only Meet! This will be a pre-conference meet on the conference course.
You are welcome to bring your varsity out to workout but please have them stay off the trail during the middle school races.
The meet will be held at Kituwah Mound in Bryson City, off Hwy 19

More importantly, this is the most sacred Cherokee cultural site in existence and is recognized as the Cherokee Mother Town. Archeological research conducted on the site dates back its existence as a Cherokee village to well over 10,000 years. This property contains an ancient mound, the center of the Cherokee world, that once held the eternal flame. Surrounding fields comprise the site of an ancient village and are currently used for permitted farming by tribal members.
It is critical that our athletes, coaches, and spectators respect the significance of this site while participating in Cross Country events.
Spectators are required to stay in designated viewing areas and athletes must stay on designated trail courses. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is permitted on the mound (enclosed in the split rail fence), in perimeter fields, or other areas marked off-limits.
Middle School will begin at 4p.m. with the boys, followed immediately by the girls.
We are not having a professional timer. Runners will receive an index card with a number indicating their place. Runners need to give these to coaches with their first and last name legibly written on the back. These cards need to be returned in the team packet to the score keeper.
