Meet Information

Posted 10/23/25 @ 11:54 a.m.

This was sent from Coach Peoples at Polk. Please see below. I added to my earlier document and will add to MileSplit.

Also, they are requesting no tent/camp set up on Friday afternoon/evening. Make sure your parents are aware of the cost to park. $10.

Thanks

Josh

FINAL Instructions:

1-When the bus arrives at the course, please exit and move to the tent area which is across the road from the course and is quite large. It is around an equestrian training depression. Buses will then move up the road and park. It is about a quarter mile from there back to the course.

2-Packet pickup will be beside the tee shirt sales: this will likely be across the dirt road beside the course near the finish line.

3-I will have my tent near the tees also since I will be there, with a few other volunteers, for all 6 regionals. I will have water for my athletes and the volunteers at the PCHS tent.

4-Spectators will come in the opposite end of the same road and pay $10 per car and then be parked. We will have some shuttle available.

5-Awards will be at the bridge near the finish line but on the opposite side of the water. This will keep people away from the finish line.

6-Once you have finished everything, please police your area before leaving because someone is coming in behind you. Make sure that you knock down your tents etc. to allow for the next regional to have room.

7-Please have your athletes, spectators, and coaches cognizant of warm-ups and viewing since races will be going all day. STAY OFF THE COURSE PLEASE!!

8-There will be port-a-potties strictly available for athletes, spectators, and for the workers near the tee shirts and packet pickup.

Good Morning-

WEEKLY REMINDER - ENTRIES ARE DUE THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH @ 11:59 P.M. You may make changes up until that point on MileSplit. After that, you may substitute at the meet after the coaches' meeting.

I've compiled a detailed document for Saturday, October 25, at Tryon. Much of it covers statewide rules for all classes; the rest is 4A West-specific.

Included at the end of the document:

  • Substitution Form and Protest Form (hard copies will be available on 10/25)

  • Optional box-lunch order info from Tryon (may be less relevant for us since 4A runs early and leaves shortly after awards, but sharing for convenience)

As new details arise, I'll email updates right away.

Please review carefully (points of emphasis)

  • Uniforms: No face paint; headbands must be solid color. Officials will enforce-please address with your athletes now. Inspect and check them NOW, this week, please.

  • Sportsmanship: Taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct are points of emphasis this year.

  • Pets: No pets at regionals or states. Only registered/certified service animals are permitted (not emotional-support animals).

If you have questions, reach out-if I don't know the answer, I'll find it.

Mobile: 980-389-9394

I do not respond after 8:00 p.m. (except the night before the meet). I'm a husband and father first, and I hold my runners to the same boundaries.

Information below was posted on 9/19/25

My name is Joshua Williams, and I serve as the head XC and distance coach at Lincoln Charter as well as the regional director and point of contact for the 4A West Regional. We will be coordinating with Ben Paxton at Tryon Equestrian Center, Alan Peoples at Polk County, and the other regional directors for the 1A-6A West to finalize details and schedules. I will share updates with you as soon as I have them.

In the meantime, please go ahead and enter your schools/athletes.

Even if your roster changes, you can make updates until the deadline on Saturday, October 18th at 11:59 p.m. It's best to enter athletes early so the deadline doesn't sneak up on you.

Additionally, I'd appreciate it if you could email me your name, school, email, and phone number so I can create a consistent distribution list moving forward.
