Meet Information
Meet start time is 4:30. Heat doesn't look to be an issue for next week thankfully.
Girls will run first followed by boys. When the last girls racer crosses the finish line we will start the boys race within the next 10 minutes or so.
Wilkes Central will not have school in session yet so do not worry about school traffic at all when arriving. I would suggest arriving early enough to view the course you are running. The course will be heavily marked with arrows and cones but a quick walkthrough never hurt anyone. I will be at the school at 3:00 ready to register any teams who arrive after that.
At registration you will receive bib numbers for your team. Please be careful to give each number to the proper runner. Results are not FAT. I will manually have them out to you the night of the conclusion of our meet. They will be put in milesplit immediately.
When you arrive use the entrance on the tennis court and soccer practice field side. This will lead you to the back parking lot where you can park. Spectators can also park here.
The start and finish line will be on the field next to the tennis courts. Please tell your fans and parents to not come down onto this field. They may set up on the side of the hill above this area but should not come down onto the field itself. Someone always gets in the way of a runner. You all know how this goes.
Coaches you may run anywhere on the course you want I just ask that you do not run next to your runners. Also mention this to your team and spectators. Every year I feel like this becomes a bigger mistake that people make. I know mom and dad is happy but they shouldn't be running the race too.
Team tents can be set up next to the tennis courts.
Water will be provided and an athletic trainer will be on campus.
