You are invited to compete in the 2024 Mid-South Relays!
Pinecrest High School Track & Field will host the Mid-South Relays on 9 March 2024 at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, NC. The Mid-South Relays will be an early season showcase; a relay style track meet held on Pinecrest's brand new track & field facility, which includes:
- 8 Lane, equidistant, 400m track w/ Beynon mat system competition surface, 360-degree trench drains, interior & exterior concrete curbing and 3 runouts. The outside of the track is sidewalk wide enough to allow officials to move along the outside of the track.
- Jumbotron scoreboard allows for video display of results - We are working on a plan for live video and/or video replay of events and event highlights.
- 2 new horizontal jump pits inside the north end D-Ring viewable from either side of stadium. Pits are 9ftx23ft w/ 150 Ft. runways, artificial turf waiting area for Jump competitors and bleachers positioned adjacent to the pits for competitors, coaches, and spectators.
- New pole vault runway - Located outside the north end trackbut spectator friendly w/ bleachers for spectators but also viewable from both sides of the stadium.
- New Shot-Put Sector (65ft long w/ concrete curbs) located outside west side of track w/ bleachers for spectators and benches for competitors.
- Completely rubberized D-Ring on south end for high jump allows for full approach on uniform competition surface for all performance levels - Bleachers for spectators will be on the outside of the track at that end of facility.
- New discus cage on the infield - viewable from anywhere you sit in the stadium.
- Concession stand - We're also considering inviting food trucks to park on Patriot Way.
- Field house meeting room will be used for vault/throws pole/implement inspections.
Live Results and FAT timing and will be provided by Rhodes Race Timing.
Medals will be awarded to top three finishers in each event. Team Champion and Runner-up will receive a 2024 Mid-South Relays Plaque. Coaches will be asked to nominate and vote for outstanding male and female athlete of the meet; these athletes will receive a unique Mid-South Relays Medal.
Admission fee: $8 per spectator (Age 5 and over) via GoFan.co . The spectator gate will open for entry at 8 a.m. Please, advise your families and fans that that they must enter at the main ticket booth but that tickets can only be purchased via GoFan.co. Athlete/Coach entry will be via the Baseball stadium gate only.
There are opportunities for advertising on our Jumbotron and/or corporate sponsorship of individual events. If you know someone interested in advertising/sponsoring, please have them contact us and we would be happy to arrange it.
Note: There are some event entry limits/constraints for this meet:
- We will accept the top 24 entries in the 1600m Run and the top 24 entries in the 3200m Run. The accepted entries will be released Tues, 11 March 2025.
- Field Event entries will be based on minimum performance marks published on approximately 1 Aug 2024.
- Teams are permitted one team per relay event. A second (or third) team may be requested and added based on lane and heat availability.
Entry Fees:
- If fees are paid before 1 February 2025: Single Gender $100. Men's and Women's Team $180. Six (6) or less athletes from the same school $15 per individual.
- If fees are paid after 1 February 2025: Single Gender $125. Men's and Women's Team $200. Six (6) or less athletes from the same school $20 per individual.
