Online Registration Instructions
Cuthbertson High School is hosting the seventh annual Clash of the Carolinas on March 16th, 2024. This meet was put into place to have some great competition between two states that have amazing history in the sport of track and field. This meet will have some of the best teams and competitors from both states.
The event will be held at Cuthbertson High School at 1400 Cuthbertson rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173
Eligibility: Open to all high school teams and high school age athletes competing unattached.
Entry Fee: $100 per gender team. $175 if you sign up both genders.
Entry fee for individuals- $10 per athlete per event. 1 athlete in 4 events would be $40.

Race day payments will be accepted in the form of cash, school checks,or personal checks.
If payment is not made your team will be pulled from the meet.
Entries: Will be done on NC Milesplit. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM, Wednesday, March 12th , 2024.
Awards: Top 3 in each event, Team champion
General Admission: Admission is $10
Spectators Tickets- Tickets can be found at the link below. Please let parents know that all tickets must be purchased online and that Union County Public Schools now has a clear bag policy, along with a policy where you CANNOT leave the event and come back into the facility unless you purchase another ticket.
Union County Public Schools no longer allows outside food or drink unless it is brought into the facility by the team/coach at the team entrance. Coolers may only be brought in through this gate by the team or coaches on staff. Please let your parents know that they will not be allowed to bring in anything.
Performance Limits:
There is a limit of 3 athletes per open event & 1 relay team per event for each school. Teams will be limited to only 2 entries in field events.
Starting Heights Boys HJ = 5'6, Girls HJ = 4'6, Boys PV = 9'6, Girls PV = 8'0
Best 3 jumps and throws; 9 to the finals
1600 Meter Run - Top 48 entries per gender accepted from verifiable performances from the past year.
3200 Meter Run - Top 32 entries per gender accepted from verifiable performances from the past year.

Pole Vault- Girls followed by Boys
High Jump- Girls followed by Boys
Discus- Girls followed by boys (Officials will decide number of flights after check in) Discus pit is on the upper practice field next to the stadium on the left near the Goal Post.
Shot Put- Boys followed by Girls (Officials will decide number of flights after check in) Shot Put pit is on the upper practice field next to the stadium on the right closest to the parking lot.

Miscellaneous:
Buses may drop off at the stadium entrance closest to the tennis courts (THIS IS NOT THE MAIN ENTRANCE!!!).Coaches will grab their packets here and athletes can enter the stadium. From this point you will find an officer directing you where to park. Please follow the direction of the officers in order to fit all buses and all spectators. NO BUSES SHOULD BE PARKING IN OUR MAIN PARKING LOT. ALL BUSES WILL PARK AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL.
Tents may not be placed in any of the bleachers per our county rule. Tents can go anywhere else in the stadium.
All spectators should use the student parking lot near the entrance of the stadium.
Cuthbertson High School and Atrium health will be providing certified athletic trainers onsite during the competition. Schools not traveling with a trainer should send supplies, such as tape and pre-wrap, as we will have limited quantities of those supplies.
All injuries or medical emergencies should be reported to the athletic trainer. The trainer will either be in the training room, or the medical tent.
Coaches and athletes are not allowed under the timing tent for any reason.
Coaches are not allowed in the infield, unless you are helping.
Athletes will not be allowed on the infield at all. Athletes will check in at the bottom of the stairs closest to the 100 meter start and be clerked to the start of their races. Athletes on the infield when they are not supposed to be will be disqualified from competition after 1 warning.
No headphones, cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in competition areas.
Any protests should be filed with the appropriate referee (running or field) or the meet director.
Protests will be judged by the games committee, which will consist of the referees and the meet director.
The protest period will be within 15 minutes after the posting of final results.
ALL ATHLETES, MUST CONFORM TO THE NCHSAA UNIFORM RULES.
All horizontal jumps are located in front of the away stands.
All field event athletes should check in at their event site no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of their competition.
Check-In- Athletes will check in at the bottom of the stairs closest to the 100 meter start and be clerked to the start of their races. Athletes on the infield when they are not supposed to be will be disqualified from competition after 1 warning.
Athletes should know the order of events and not depend solely on calls before they check in.
