Hugh MacRae Hokum Karum 2018

Wilmington, NC

Meet Information

What is a Hokum Karem?

It's a two-person, boy girl relay race where teammates
alternate running a one-mile loop. Each teammate will complete the loop three
times (twice for middle school and youth runners). Order of running is Runner A
(Boy) -- Runner B (Girl) -- Runner A (Boy) -- Runner B (Girl) - Runner A (Boy)
-- Runner B (Girl).

Hand off will be a high five - touching hands - in an
exchange zone.

Meet is scored the same as traditional XC meet, top five pairings
score. Low score wins.

Same gender teams may compete immediately following the
varsity race without scoring (fun workout).

You do not need to register individual athletes on milesplit
for this meet. Simply put runners in boy/girl pairs and send them to the line.
