Meet Information
Athletes will report to start line of their event for check in. All athletes must check in on second call prior to the running of an event and leave the infield immediately after competing.
Please make sure they know to keep away from the inside edge of the straightaway so the timers can see the runners finishing properly. Also there is only one gate from the stands to enter the track, please make sure the athletes watch out for runners and goes to left upon entering and stays clear of the finish line.
John Potts will be the official starter.
Every school will be expected to help out at the meet with field events, timing and relay exchange zones. If you have a preference, please email Coach Deeg at deborahj.deeg@cms.k12.nc.us
WE WILL NOT HAVE POLE VAULT AT THIS MEET. Our standards are broken and we haven't received new ones yet. If more than one team has pole vaulters and wants to host the pole vault the day before at their school. Email Coach Deeg by Monday that you have polevaulters so we can set it up.
Discus and shot will be on the lower practice field.
Coaches meeting and scratch meeting will be held at 3:30 at the finish line.
Field events will start at 3:45 and Running at 4:00. Girls HJ, Girls Shot, Boys Long Jump, Boys Discus will be first.
NO electronics are allowed on the infield or competition areas. Athletes will be disqualified from their event if they have them.
Coaches and athletes are expected to show good sportsmanship. Competitors who engage in taunting, profanity, baton throwing, or refusal to follow the instructions of a meet official will be disqualified.
