NEW HANOVER COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP - OCTOBER 15 - HUGH MACRAE PARK
Cape Fear Academy is proud to host the 2015 New Hanover County Cross Country Championships at Hugh Macrae Park in Wilmington, NC All area high schools will be opening the 'championship' season October 15h at 4:00PM, toeing the line on the areas fastest course. Top teams this season, as well as top individuals will be recognized immediately following the meet thanks to real time results provided by Go Time race management at no cost.
New this year, after the Varsity and Junior Varsity races, area middle schools and clubs will compete for team pride - and perhaps to try to impress their future coaches in a two mile middle school race. Then a one mile elementary school race at the park. Athletes in theses divisions will be recognized as well. While high schools must have a New Hanover County address - we are encouraging competition from any middle or elementary school in southeastern North Carolina, regardless of county of origin.
Information on the meet, and registration is located HERE on the NCRUNNERS website.
We would like to encourage local club teams, middle school coaches, and elementary school running clubs to come give 'big time' cross county a try - please reach out to the middle and elementary school programs you are aware of, to make sure they know of the event.
Thanks, in advance, to all of the coaches, parents and athletes that help make the Wilmington area cross country community second to none.
