How did it come to pass that a small school that doesn't even have a track to speak of, ended up with two of the best sprinters in the state? In order for that to happen, the kids would have to be hard workers with strong character, and that ceratinly seems to be the case with Briana Haith. As a freshman she quickly found success in the 400, and since then has developed into one of the best all-around sprinters in the state. She steadily progressed through her sophomore year, reaching the upper 54's in the summer, and made a splash on the national stage last March when she made the finals of both the 400 and the 200 at New Balance Indoor Nationals. Then a hamstring injury in the late spring ended her track season prematurely, preventing what could have been a spectacular summer. She has obviously recovered, though, and seems to be right on track to duplicate last year's success. Briana will face stiff competition in the ultra-competitive 2A Mideast Regional, which contains a ridiculous amount of sprint talent; watch for that region to dominate at the state meet, and watch for Briana to be right in the forefront!
