Several North Carolina high school athletes posted personal records at meets during the week of April 13.
Trey Stone (A.C. Reynolds) ran 1:58.50 in the 800 meters at the Blue Ridge Classic on April 18, dropping from his previous personal record of 2:09.68 set in April. The sophomore ranks #61 in North Carolina and #3 among sophomores. Stone finished second of 34 competitors.
Bryan Lindsay (Mooresville) clocked 10.95 in the 100 meters at the Davie County Tri Meet on April 15, improving from 11.63. The senior ranks #118 in North Carolina and #56 among seniors. Lindsay placed second of 20 competitors.
Praise Abiahu (Apex Friendship) threw 42-11 in the shot put at Green Hope Home Meet #2 on April 15, improving from 24-0. The mark set a school record and ranks #4 in North Carolina and #1 among seniors. Abiahu won the event with 16 competitors and also set a personal record in the long jump with 12-8, improving from 11-6.5.
Scarlet Fairweather (Cary Christian School) ran 11:05.23 in the 3200 meters at the Cary Academy Home V Meet #3 on April 16, improving from 12:25.96. The mark ranks #27 in North Carolina. Fairweather won the race with three competitors.
Jaden Jenkins (Tarboro) ran 10.46 in the 100 meters at Farmville Central, Tarboro @ Kinston on April 15, improving from 10.97. The senior's time set a school record and ranks #6 in North Carolina and #3 among seniors. Jenkins won the race with 13 competitors.
LeMarkus Simmons (North Stokes) cleared 6-3 in the high jump at the Bishop McGuinness Home Meet on April 16, improving from 5-10. The sophomore ranks #44 in North Carolina and #5 among sophomores. Simmons placed second of four competitors.
