Friday Night Lights XC Festival draws the majority of North Carolina's top teams and individuals each year in the first major meet of the season within the state. We pulled the top 100 marks from both the event and overall at Ivey Redmon which also features the NCHSAA State Championship to look at history and get an idea of where this years field matches up. I think both Noah Valyo's 15:14.70 from 2023 and Nevada Mareno's 17:38 from 2015 are in jeopardy to be broken on Friday. We've already seen two girls break Mareno's mark this season at McAlpine in Madeline Dorsch (Pinecrest) and Emma Balaban (Weddington) and have returning champ Kavi Gibson (Cary Academy) on the boys side who was just 5 second behind Valyo's mark in his victory in 2024.
