The NCHSAA has dropped their new official realignment to go from 4 classifications to 8 for the 2025-2029 school years making drastic changes to the landscape of the NCHSAA Cross Country, Indoor Track & Field and Outdoor Track & Field State Championships. Additionally they will drop from four regions per classifications to 3 regions for 1A through 7A and two regions for 8A with it having less schools (32) than the other 7 classes (64 each).
Below you can find returning rankings for each state classification over all three seasons and regions for XC and Outdoor Track & Field where regions will be used to qualify for the state championships.
