Charlotte Christian Set To Compete At Bermuda Challenge

NCISAA powerhouse Charlotte Christian will be traveling down to Devonshire, Bermuda for the 2023 Bermuda Challenge. The new annual track and meet meet will feature athletes from Bermuda, as well as across the continental United States.

Charlotte Christian picked up 3rd place finishes in the boy's and girl's NCISAA DI State Championship just two weeks ago. Now, they look to build off those strong performances into the summer track and field season.

"We decided to attend because of the proximity of the island and to give our athletes the opportunity to participate in the culture, competition and camaraderie the meet provides. This is also a great culminating event for our athletes to use the sport to gain some life experiences and develop relationships that transcend the sport that will last long after their track careers end." -Charlotte Christian Coach Ralph Jones

Their headliner is sophomore star Nina Dominique. She won the 100m and 200m state titles, and is currently top five in North Carolina in both events. She is the North Carolina No. 1 and U.S. No. 13 sophomore in the 100m this season. She will be competing in the 100m and long jump competitions in Bermuda.

Coach Jones is also bringing athletes from his JET LLC track club.

Joining Dominique in the 100m are Sydney Johnson and Delaney Jones. Johnson will be back in the 400m, and Jones will be alongside Dominique once more in the long jump.

On the boy's side of the 100m, Brandon McClary is the current top entry, and he will be next to club teammate Andre Jones. McClary will also be in the 400m, and Jones will also be in the long jump.
