Myers Park's Mary Bonner Dalton was at it again this weekend. This time, the junior dropped a NC No. 6 all-time 10:23 to win the Raleigh Relays High School 3,200m over a loaded field. Dalton got the win over Kate Putman (Cicero-North Syracuse, NY), who is a NC State signee. Putman won the adidas Track Nationals 800m national title in 2:08.92, and has a one-mile best of 4:44.48.
The time for Dalton, is not an overall personal best, however. She ran 10:20.72 in the 3,200m at the VA Showcase to take runner-up. That time is good for NC Indoor No. 2 all-time.
It was a stellar outdoor season debut for Dalton, who is looking to capture her second outdoor state champion in just under two months from now.
