VOTE: North Carolina XC Girls Freshman of the Year

Kasey Dingman - Lake Norman

Dingman made her mark on the state right off the bat. She opened her season with a runner-up finish at Providence Invitational, 10th at Friday Night Lights, and 6th at adidas XC Challenge. She went on to place 4th at NCRunners Elite and 8th at the NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional. She ended her season with a 7th place finish at the NCHSAA State Championship. Her personal best of 17:59.00 from adidas XC is NC No. 12 overall on the season, and US Frosh No. 27.

Audrey Crowder - Durham Academy

Crowder won the NCISAA 4A State XC Championship in 18:27.40. She also won the TISAC Championship in personal best fashion, 18:20.40. Her best is NC No. 18 overall for the season. Crowder went undefeated on the season, adding on wins at Greensboro XC Invitational and the Durham City-County Championship.

Anna Edwards - Calvary Baptist

Edwards was runner-up to senior Ryann Aycock at the NCISAA 3A State XC Championship. Her 18:41.50 best from Hare & Hounds is NC Sophomore No. 3 on the season.

Molly Barber - Myers Park

Barber's personal best of 18:47.70 from Hare & Hounds is NC Frosh No. 4 for the season. She won the Carolinas Kickoff and Frosh/Soph Championship at NCRunners Elite. 

Dvdaya Swimmer - Cherokee

Swimmer took home the NCHSAA 1A State Championship on top of a NCHSAA 1A West Regional title. Her time of 18:52.88 from regionals is NC Frosh No. 6 for the season. She also won the invitational race at NCRunners Elite. 

Kate Willette - Charlotte Christian

Willette placed 3rd at the NCISAA 4A State XC Championship in a personal best 18:51.00. Her time is NC Frosh No. 5 on the season.

Josie Schihl - Cuthbertson

Schihl won the invitational race at Hare & Hounds and placed 33rd in the championship race at Friday Night Lights. She ran her personal best of 19:00.70 (NC Frosh No. 7) at the Union County Championships where she placed 9th.
