VOTE: North Carolina XC Girls Senior of the Year


Macy Parks - North Lincoln

In what was a dream season for Parks, she ended it with an individual state championship in the NCHSAA 3A classification.

She also won the NCHSAA 3A West Regional title, where she ran a personal best and NC Senior No. 6 18:29.00.

Parks picked up another victory at the Western Foothills Athletic Conference Championship running 18:40.44.

Ryann Aycock - Cary Christian

Aycock won her second NCISAA 3A State Championship this season. She ran a personal best of 18:00.00 at the MileStat.com XC Invitational in Virginia.

She was also 5th at NCRunners Elite XC and 13th at adidas XC Challenge. She won the invitational race at Friday Night Lights, as well.

Her best time of 18:00.00 was NC Senior No. 3 on the season. 

Alyssa Preisano - Cuthbertson

Preisano has been a focal point of Cuthbertson's massive success over the last five years. She was 9th at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship this fall, and 7th at the NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional.

She ran a personal best of 17:40.10 at the Union County Championships where she finished runner-up. Her mark is NC Senior No. 1 and all classes No. 2 on the season.

She ran one 3-mile race, a 16:41.50 performance from the Woodbridge Classic in California. 

Preisano also placed 6th at Friday Night Lights, 2nd at Union County, and 4th at the Southern Carolina Conference Championships.

Kaitlyn Obremski - Topsail

It was a great senior season for Obremski. 

She picked up some major wins this season, including Jungle Run, the Mideastern Conference Championship, and the NCHSAA 4A East Regional Championship.

Her season best of 17:52.94 is NC Senior No. 2 on the season.

Lily Nasta - Cuthbertson

Another focal point of Cuthbertson's success, Nasta had a remarkable season and career. 

She took 5th at the Union County Championships, running a season best of 18:20.70. Her time is NC Senior No. 4 on the season. 

Nasta also placed 5th at the Southern Carolina Conference, 10th at NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional, and 16t at NCHSAA 4A State Championships.

Hannah Caudill - Asheville

Caudill was runner-up at the NCHSAA 4A West Regional, where she ran 18:42.90. 

Her personal best of 18:28.74 comes from a win at the United Way CC Invitational.  She also won the 3A/4A Mountain Conference Championship.

She sits NC Senior No. 5 on the season.

Katherine Hopkins - Lincolnton

What a career it has been for Hopkins. She was runner-up in 2020, did not compete in 2021, and now she stands alone as the NCHSAA 2A state champion.

She also won the NCHSAA 2A West Regional and Catawba Valley Conference Championships.

Her personal best of 18:29.20, came in a 12th place effort at adidas XC, and ranks her NC Senior No. 8 on the season.
